This morning our Tooth Soap® team representatives received a Google Alert :

"Vitality Products Cited For "Misleading" Claims"

To say the least we were more than surprised to find out from Google that the FDA and FTC had sent warning letters to what we thought was our company and that an article by Lisa Barger, had been written online about it!

JOYFULLY upon CLOSER INSPECTION of the article we saw that the company being federally warned was Vitality Products COMPANY Inc and indeed not Vitality Products Inc, manufacturer and distributor of Tooth Soap® and related products.

While we appreciate the article citing the FDA's warning about oral chelation therapy we are thankful to point out that this company has absolutely NO RELATIONSHIP to Vitality Products Inc.

We also thank the author of the article for recognizing this fact as well.

Yield: 1 Side Salad

Ingredients:

*1- 1/2 cups loosely packed organic greens, cleaned and torn into bite-size pieces

*3-4 trimmed and sliced (preferably organic) strawberries

*about 8 whole almonds, toasted (I used Marcona almonds with sea salt)

*crumbled Boucheron (or other goat’s) cheese

*freshly ground black pepper

*a generous drizzle of aged balsamic vinegar

*about 1 tablespoon of your best olive oil

Preparation:

Place the salad greens on your serving plate and arrange the sliced strawberries on top. Add the almonds and the cheese and then fresh pepper from a few twists of your pepper mill. Drizzle all over with the aged balsamic, and then add the olive oil.

9) Behentrimonium Chloride - Toxic ammonia compound. Ingestion can be fatal. Concentrations as low as0.1% can be irritating to the eyes and cause necrosis (tissue death) of mucus membranes.

10) Titanium, Zirconium, Benzalkonium, Bismuth, Antimony (*1), Barium (*2), Aluminum, Tin, Chromium, Benzene & PCBs. - According to Dr. Hulda Reghi Clark, all of these ingredients are extremely dangerous. *1 - Breast cancer cases show Titanium, Zirconium, Benzalkonium, Bismuth, Antimony, and Aluminum accumulation in the breast. *2 -Barium is described in the Merck Index as a "caution". An article published online on June 9, 2010 in the American Journal of Clinical Nutrition reveals the finding of Australian researchers of a protective effect for omega-3 polyunsaturated fatty acid and fish consumption against the development of age-related hearing loss, known as presbycusis.

For the current research, Paul Mitchell of the University of Sydney and his colleagues evaluated data from participants in the Blue Mountains Hearing Study of age-related hearing loss conducted between 1997 and 2004. The participants underwent audiologic examinations upon enrollment and at 5 and 10 year follow-up visits. Food frequency questionnaire responses were analyzed for dietary intake of fish and the long-chain omega-3 polyunsaturated fatty acids (PUFAs) eicosapentaenoic acid (EPA), docosahexaenoic acid (DHA), and docosapentaenoic acid (DPA), in addition to the omega-3 fatty acid alpha-linolenic acid (ALA) and omega-6 fatty acids.

Greater total omega-3 fatty acid intake was associated with a lower risk of hearing loss at the beginning of the study, and increased long chain omega-3 fatty acid intake was associated with a reduced risk of developing hearing loss over follow-up. A reduction was also observed among those who consumed at least 2 servings of fish per week, who had a 42 percent lower risk of hearing loss at the 5 year follow-up compared with those who ate 1 serving per week. Additionally, a reduced risk of hearing loss progression was observed in those who consumed 1 to 2 servings of fish per week.

The authors suggest that the cardiovascular benefit documented for omega-3 fatty acids and fish may help maintain or improve blood flow to the ear's cochlea, thereby helping to prevent hearing loss. Additionally, omega-3 fatty acids and fish could have a direct effect on cochlear microcirculatory flow or provide benefits via other mechanisms.

"To our knowledge, the potential influence of omega-3 PUFAs and fish consumption on auditory function has not been investigated," the authors write. "Our cohort study indicated that dietary total omega-3 polyunsaturated fatty acids were significantly and inversely associated with the prevalence of hearing loss. A higher dietary intake of long-chain omega-3 PUFAs was associated with a 24% decreased risk of developing incident hearing loss."

"Dietary intervention with omega-3 PUFAs could prevent or delay the development of age-related hearing loss," they conclude.

A study of 313 cancer patients found the chances of developing thyroid cancer rose with repeated exposure to dental X-rays, British scientists said.
The results suggest dental X-rays should only be prescribed for a specific clinical need, rather than as part of a routine checkup, said the study's lead author, Dr. Anjum Memon of the Brighton and Sussex Medical School.
The thyroid gland, located in the neck, is sensitive to ionizing radiation, especially in children, Memon and his team said.
The findings of the study were consistent with previous reports of increased risk of thyroid cancer in dentists, dental assistants and X-ray workers, The Daily Telegraph reported Friday. Dental X-rays also have been linked with an increased risk of brain and salivary gland tumors.
"The public health and clinical implications of these findings are particularly relevant in the light of increases in the incidence of thyroid cancer in many countries over the past 30 years," Memon said.

IT WORKS!

Well! In February, I wrote about tooth soap in the place of tooth paste. It works! It really, really works! I went for my regular 4 month cleaning (I was prone to accumulating plaque, despite the use of tooth paste). She asked: "What did you do to your teeth?" Alarmed, I replied, nothing, just using tooth soap instead of tooth paste.

She said she was amazed because my teeth had almost no plaque (there was some because I had been using the soap only for 3 months). And also because she didn't know that soap was better than paste. Furthermore, after the dentist popped in to take a look, she pronounced my gums were those of a 16 yr old (I'm 50 yrs past that age).

I love your toothsoap®. About 4 yrs ago I had a checkup & they recommended deep cleaning. I had many pockets at 4 & 5... even a few 6's. But I was scared & canceled my appt.

My gums were bleeding when I brushed. The left side was sensitive & red. I knew I had to do something. I had a sudden onset of tooth sensitivity one day that wouldn't subside.

Toothpaste hurt & the only thing I could use without pain was toothsoap®. Over the next several months the bleeding stopped. My gums returned to a healthy pink.

I finally went to the dentist after 4 yrs & my pockets were mostly 2s and 3s. I had very little tartar to remove.

The small cavities I had back then that I avoided filling, haven't gotten any bigger. A couple even vanished.

Though I don't advocate poor nutrition, I admit mine hasn't been the best and really the only change I made in the last 4 years was switching to toothsoap®, and to a toothbrush by GUM that has these extra long bristles that go between my teeth, perhaps pushing the toothsoap® under my gums as well.

Organized by Global Outreach Mission, the

The team also plans to create two mobile
dental units to serve the surrounding region.
Once completed with the project, Daniel Wiens
(Construction Engineering Manager) and Steve
Shimmin (Architect) hope to create a humanitarian
non-profit organization that will encourage green
building fundamentals in developing nations,
through dental and other medical facilities.

I took my girls to the dentist!

I had to write to tell you about about my experience
at the dentist.

I decided to take my girls because they both have
some crowding on either the top or bottom teeth.

I am opposed to braces (I will go into that in another
email), but I found another alternative that corrects
the dental arch, which is the source of the crowding.

Normally it wouldn't be such a big deal to go to the
dentist, but in our case it was huge.

It was huge because my daughters have NEVER
been to a dentist. My oldest is 14 and my youngest
is 11. So you can see it would be a big event for
us!

It was awkward when the receptionist at the
dentist asked how long it had been since their
last appointment. I said, "It has been a long
time." I tried not to crack up.

I asked what the procedure was for cleaning
teeth and she said they would take x-rays
then remove the tartar, then apply fluoride
then polish. So I told her to skip the fluoride
and she said okay but asked if it was an
issue of money or did I read something?
I said, "I definitely read a lot of something."
She then made sure the charts said, "NO
FLUORIDE". She was very pleasant the
whole time.

I tried to get out of the x-rays but they wouldn't
go for it. I wanted the arch corrected and they
said they couldn't even do a consultation
without x-rays, so I said "okay".

The girls got their teeth cleaned and the dentist
viewed the x-rays and asked me to come and
take a look. My 11 year old had her mouth
open and the dentist had this sharp probe
and he was scraping and poking and when
he thought there was something he would
stick the probe in.

I could hear the sound of the sharp tool scraping
against her teeth and all I could think about was
what Dr. Judd said which was, "Don't let a dentist
poke your teeth with sharp probes. It will make
holes in your teeth making cavities. Don't let a
dentist poke with sharp probes under the gumline.
It will make holes that will catch food and cause
gum infection."

I wanted to tell him to stop probing but I knew
I wouldn't be able to control the way I said it
(I wanted to scream!) so I kept silent. He stopped
probing right after that.

The dentist then proceeds to tell me that the
x-rays show my daughter has two little cavities
on her baby teeth. But since she says she can't
feel them and they are not bothering her, he
didn't recommend filling them. He said her
permanent teeth were coming in shortly and
those baby teeth were going to fall out.

I was happy! She is my problem child. She loves
sweets. It is hard keeping her away. She will
even sneak candy (they sell it at school!!!!). She
is also a mouth breather when she sleeps. So
she doesn't get the constant bathing of saliva
on her top teeth when she sleeps. Incidentally,
her cavities were on the top.

For my 11 year old to have only two little cavities
(that were falling out soon) was a good thing. :-)

One down, one to go. So with my 14 year old
he only did the sharp probe poke one time. :-)

And my 14 year old had NO CAVITIES!!!!! First
dentist visit in 14 years and no cavities!!! Yippee
skippee.

So the cleaning, x-rays, and impressions ended up
costing $444. The only reason why I had to pay
this was because I wanted that device for their arch,
which by the way, we can't even discuss until I go
back and have a consultation about next week!

Once I start this whole thing, I will be a slave to the
dentist. Oh no, I will be sucked into the system
like everyone else! How can this be? I have evaded
the dental system for almost 20 years!

As I am waiting for my final bill they are immediately
trying to book another appointment for a cleaning
in six months and trying to book me for an appointment
as well. I told them I would think about it!

When I gave them a check for $444 (of course we have
no dental insurance!!) I asked how much tartar the
girls had on their teeth and she said my oldest
had some on the back but my youngest had none.
This makes sense. Remember the info I provided
to you about how an alkaline mouth produces more
tartar? And an alkaline mouth is more cavity resistant?

My youngest is more acidic in her mouth, hence
less tartar but two little cavities.

The hygienist told me my 11 year old had bleeding
gums during the cleaning but my daughter told me later
that the hygienist POKED her under her gum with
the yes, you guessed it, "SHARP PROBE" and after
that her gums bled. :-()

I am thrilled that my girls are going to be able to
live a life without fillings in their mouth. So far
so good. And they are both excited that they got such
good news. It has made them more motivated to
take care of their teeth and they have vowed to
brush even more carefully and use the Brytonpick
after every meal!

I will admit that my girls have had the big advantage

Green Burials, Dental fillings and More..

If you are like me, maybe you have
been wondering what type of burial
would be the greenest.

According to the November/December
2008 issue of Mother Jones, the
greenest way to go is a biodegradable
coffin. Yup, a plain pine box seems
to be what we should opt for. Or even
better yet, a casket made of wood
certified as sustainably harvested by
the nonprofit Forest Stewardship Council.

But I was surprised to find information
about mercury fillings connected to green
burials...

Hold on to your seat for this: According
to Mother Jones, "The average cremation releases
more than 35 pounds of carbon, and high
temperatures can VAPORIZE DENTAL FILLINGS -
in the UK, cremations create up to a SIXTH
of the country's annual mercury emissions."

Wow. Yet another reason to have any mercury
fillings removed from your mouth, especially
if you plan on going out/up in flames.

Her Son's Teeth Were Saved

Speaking of dental fillings, Heather K. wrote to us
recently and reported the following about her son's teeth:

"I realized that I should probably write a review for you,
since you literally saved my son's teeth. About a year ago I
took him to a dentist, who advised me my then 3 year old,
had about 12 cavities. At the tune of about $3500 he
removed the cavities, put fillings in - and as you can imagine
it became pure tortore for my little guy.

Hey Karen,

You've done a great job letting both sides communicate about all of this publicly. :-)

I think both sides pose valuable arguments and respect their contribution to this discussion, which from my estimation doesn't seem to have ill intent.

My own decision to stop my own personal use of agave has been based on some of this information and more importantly on the fact that we really don't need to add sweeteners to our food.

I'm still not particularly thrilled that we're adding enzymes to a liquid that is a slightly unnatural process to make it sweet. This is the same reason many people have denounced another liquid amino acid product.

The over-consumption of sugar in any diet is known to cause health issues no matter what the source... natural or processed.

Many people switch over to agave or other sweeteners to make the switch over from processed white sugar... while this is a good intentioned switch, it still doesn't address the underlying sugar addiction, which is harmful either physically OR mentally.

Ultimately, it's up to the individual to decide, but the final card here is... how much sugar do we really need to add to our foods?

Response to Rami Nagel’s article

In response, I must first point out that Mr. Nagel’s article is based on the view of a sole individual, Russ Bianchi. I suppose we should thank Mr. Bianchi for pointing out some issues that may have contributed to Iidea’s (the initial manufacturer of blue agave nectar) demise from the market, however I want to be clear, this is not about Madhava or our agave nectar. Once a dominant supplier, as of this past summer Iidea is no longer a major supplier in the agave syrup business. The distributors using them as a supplier have quietly switched to newly formed blue agave companies for their supply. Madhava has always worked exclusively with Nekutli, the producer of agave nectar from the agave salmiana, a very different species of the agave.
However, there is no mention of our agave nectar from salmiana in the article, nor of the differences in the plant, the collection and production of our product. So, the author has blurred the line with his all encompassing attack on blue agave nectar, by his failure to present complete information on the subject of agave nectars. For what purpose was this article written? If it were to educate the public, I think it would include all the information available. With the errors and misstatements and half-truths, I don’t think this article is about education, it is an all out shotgun attack.

I believe Mr. Bianchi, presented as the sole authority on agave nectar, was initially introduced to Iidea’s blue agave syrup product on their entry to the market in the late 90’s. At that time, Iidea was promoting a 90% fructose agave syrup. This is what I believe Mr. Bianchi is referring to. Unfortunately, he ignores the fact that this is not the agave sold on the market today, nor is it representative of Madhava’s product. In fact Mr. Bianchi has never even acknowledged the existence of our agave nectar from the salmiana variety. So, all his comments are apparently based on his experience with Iidea’s product, but I find ourselves caught in the blast.

In their zestful attack against the blue agave syrup he was introduced to initially, Mr.’s Bianchi and Nagel have also made inaccurate comments which reflect on agave nectar generally. As such, I take issue with several of their statements and claims and want to clarify some things as regards Madhava’s Agave Nectar from agave salmiana.

Their discussion of the processing of agave nectar is in no way reflective of how Madhava’s agave nectar is produced. There are three ways to convert complex sugars into a simple sugar sweetener such as agave syrup. It can be done thermally, chemically, or enzymatically as ours is. There are no chemicals whatsoever involved in the production of Madhava’s agave nectar from agave salmiana, nor is it cooked. Our agave is subject only to low temperatures during the evaporation of excess water from the juice.

The author states “The principal constituent of the agave is starch, such as what is found in corn or rice.”
This statement, which is the foundation of much of their argument comparing agave nectar to corn syrup, has no basis in scientific fact, THERE IS NO STARCH IN THE AGAVE.

How can the author and his source be so mistaken on this statement on which he bases his attack?
All plants store energy in one of two ways, as starches or fructans. All agave plants create fructans as their energy storing means.

So, agave plants have fructans, not starch. From Wikipedia: Inulins are a group of naturally occurring polysaccharides produced by many types of plants. They belong to a class of fibers know as fructans. Inulin is used by some plants as a means of storing energy and it typically found in roots or rhizomes. Most plants which synthesize and store inulin do not store other materials such as starch.

There is no starch in either species of agave, and agave nectar is not from starch as the author and Mr. Bianchi claim. They have tried very hard to propagandize the public with a false fact, either by design, or ignorance, for which there would be no excuse.

Such an error of fact certainly casts doubt on the validity of the rest of Nagel’s article, as the lack of depth of his research has to be apparent to all. Really, he is just regurgitating the singular views of Mr. Bianchi.

I personally spoke with the author during his “research”, as did at least one other in the industry. He chose not to include one word of the information given to him by us, which I will repeat below, and failed to make any distinction between Madhava’s Nekutli agave nectar from salmiana and that from the blue agave plant. He only mentions blue agave. The plants differ, the locations differ, the methods and production differ greatly. The information we gave him did not fit his purpose and so was omitted in favor of a generalized attack.

Madhava’s source is exclusively agave salmiana. If you haven’t already reviewed our site at www.madhavasagave.com , you will find background information there. Briefly though, the native people supplying the juice collect it from the live plant, by hand, twice daily. There is no heat involved in the removal. The juice is immediately brought to the facility to remove the excess water as it will ferment rapidly if left standing. It is during the removal of the moisture that the only heat is applied. The juice is evaporated and moisture removed in a vacuum evaporator. The vacuum enables the moisture to be withdrawn at low temperatures. The temp is closely controlled. Subsequently, our agave is handled and packaged at room temperatures. No other heat is applied. And, rather than convert the complex sugars of the juice thermally, we use gentle enzymatic action. Just as a bee introduces an enzyme to flower nectar to make honey, we introduce an natural organic vegan enzyme for the same purpose. The technical term for the conversion of complex sugars into their simple sugar components is hydrolysis. Inulin is a fructan which is hydrolyzed into the simple sugars composing agave nectar, fructose and glucose. Honey is composed of the same simple sugars.

The blue agave plant is harvested and the blue agave nectar is produced by a completely different method. I will have to leave it to the blue agave nectar sellers to comment on the production themselves. While I know of it, I have not witnessed it as I have Nekutli’s. Unlike the author, I won’t comment publicly on something I cannot verify.

To clarify further on another claim, “Agave Nectar as a final product is mostly chemically refined fructose”. As regards Madhava’s agave nectar, there are no chemicals involved in our production whatsoever. The sugars in our agave nectar come from the breakdown of the inulin molecule through the introduction of the enzyme to break apart that molecule. It is in no way chemically refined, there are no chemicals involved in any part of the production or packaging process. Our agave nectar is refined only in as much as the excess moisture is removed from the juice of the plant, and particle filtration.

“HFCS is made with GM enzymes”. Bianchi’s states “they (agave and corn syrup) are indeed made the same way” This is another false assertion as regards Madhava’s agave nectar at least. Our agave nectar is certainly and clearly not made the same way as corn syrup. There is no starch in our agave. There are no chemicals, no refinement beyond the evaporation of water. And, there are no GMO’s whatsoever. The agave salmiana has never been subject to this and the enzyme is a natural, non GM organic, vegan enzyme.

Other points regarding fructose apply to sugars in general and are a consumption, or overconsumption issue. Certainly consuming large amounts of sweeteners of any kind will be detrimental to one’s health. Suggesting fructose could cause health issues when concentrated amounts are eaten is a statement which should really apply to the overconsumption issue. The information the author links to agave nectar is the result of megadose testing of pure clinical fructose. Not the same thing as normal daily use of agave nectar in the course of our meals.

The antisweetener advocates just have to admit that it is the overconsumption of sugars that is the problem. Used in moderation, sugars serve a purpose, to make other foods and beverages more palatable. Imagine a world without sweeteners if you can. Affinity for sweet taste is a human trait that most want to satisfy. For those who use sweeteners, there are limited choices available and many choose agave for its particular attributes. It is a good choice. Madhava Agave’s neutral flavor suits the purpose. It is in fact low glycemic, organically certified and non allergenic. Many with diabetes and other special diets find it suitable for their use where other sweeteners are not. It’s easy to use and you can use less.

Does Bacteria Really Cause Cavities?

In OraMedia's Newsletter dated June 20, 2008,
Tom Cornwell wrote an article entitled, "Dr. Judd,
the Glycerin Hysteria & Brushing with Soap".

Tom says that he is familiar with Dr. Judd's work
but was concerned about Dr. Judd's assertion that
germs do not cause tooth cavities.

Tom's article concludes with a definition of
glycerin from Wikipedia, describing all the benefits
of glycerin.

I absolutely have some info on this that I must
share. I hope to do another YouTube video soon
discussing bacteria and cavity formation.

Firstly, Dr. Gerard F. Judd, Ph.D. does mention tooth
decay at least 200 times in his book "Good Teeth
Birth to Death". But he also said he was mistaken in
using the term tooth "decay". He concluded that there was
no such thing as "decay" of teeth. He said that there are only
tooth "cavities" and they are caused by two things:

1 -- Acids applied to teeth from the foods you eat
and things you drink, such as lemons, grapefruits,
rhubarb, raw spinach (that are high in oxalic acid),
sodas and other drinks.

2 -- Sharp instruments or probes used to pick off plaque
from the teeth -- basically, sharp probes can dig holes
in the enamel. These holes that are under the gums
catch food and end up causing gum infection.

Secondly, Dr. Judd did not believe that any type
of germs were involved in the process of DEmineralization
or cavity formation. Dr. Judd said that there are at least
two evidences of this:

1 -- Billions of animal and human remains after 5,000 or
more years still have their original teeth, even though
exposed to bacteria and viruses in all kinds of conditions

and

2 -- There is no carbon in tooth enamel and therefore viruses
and bacteria, which both require CARBON to exist are
defeated. Dr. Judd emphatically stated that bacteria causing
cavities is FALSE SCIENCE. He believed the study of
Streptococcus mutans as a source of tooth cavities
was a complete waste of government funding.

Dr. Judd also mentioned that even though bacteria
from food does produce acid, this acid, like all other
food acids is neutralized easily by a little sip of water.
Acids react chemically with water to form hydronium
ion and thus the enamel is saved.

It is no wonder that I get the question about bacteria
causing cavities from many customers and visitors
who frequent the ToothSoap.com website. If you ask
any dentist or do a search online, it is stated that
bacteria is the cause of cavities.

Even though Dr. Judd showed bacteria does not cause
cavities, months ago I investigated the Streptococcus
mutans bacteria and this theory held by most dentists
today.

What I discovered about the S. mutans and the
S. sobrinus bacteria was most interesting.

From Wikipedia:

"Along with S. sobrinus, S. mutans plays a major
role in tooth decay, metabolizing sucrose to lactic
acid. The ACIDIC environment created in the mouth
by this process is what causes the highly mineralized
tooth enamel to be vulnerable to decay."

But what was even more interesting is that there
have been many attempts to make a VACCINE for
the S. mutans bacteria! And ironically, these same
scientists searching for this vaccine found the following:

"Proteins involved in the colonization of teeth by S. mutans
have been shown to produce antibodies that inhibit the
cariogenic process." Quite simply, the antibodies produced
by the S. mutans prevent cavities!

What is obvious is that the pH of the mouth
is very important. Saliva needs to be in the neutral
range for proper remineralization. It is not just
about bacteria. Saliva cannot be too acidic
or too alkaline. Obviously, your body needs to
be in the proper pH range at all times.

Studies from Newcastle University in the UK done on
saliva and tooth dissolution prove that pH of the
saliva is crucial when it comes to remineralization
and demineralization of teeth. Saliva in the proper
pH range of around 7.0 to 7.5 remineralizes teeth
and saliva in the pH range of 5.2 to 5.5 is referred
to as "critical pH", which DEmineralizes teeth.

Interestingly, saliva in the more alkaline ranges
showed to produce calculus on the back of the
lower front teeth. This is the region of the opening
of the submandibular-sublingual salivary glands.
If you are a person who gets plaque on the back
of your lower front teeth, now you know why.

Saliva is also doing another important job in
your mouth. It is neutralizing those acids that
are forming from any bacteria that is in your
mouth. Having HEALTHY pH correct saliva
is the KEY to remineralization of teeth.

But back to the bacteria issue. Is it important
for the health of your gums to use antibacterial
products? ABSOLUTELY.

And I am going to tell you why I believe that

Yes, garlic is still the undisputed health champion of theplant world, but it doesn't contain any quercetin. White onions are almost devoid of it also.

There is another main source in our country for quercetin and it happens to be the apple. But onions also contain potent sulfur compounds that offer strong health benefits too.

Check this out...In the latter part of 1999, researchers reported that, when dried onion was fed to animals it could reverse the same type of bone loss seen in those suffering from osteoporosis. Male rats fed 1 gram of onion powder per day for a period of only four weeks increased the mineral content of their bones by over 17 percent, the thickness increased by over 13 percent and the mineral density increased by over 13 percent. Overall, the addition of just onion powder inhibited bone reabsorption by about 20 percent which is higher than anyother treatment that we currently have available.

The effect with dried onion powder was greater than that available from the prescription drug Calcitonin. They even did tests on female rats that had their ovaries removed and found that the addition of 30-1,500 mg of dried onion daily prevented bone loss that would have occurred when estrogen levels normally decrease.

Now, none of these tests have been verified in humans, but isn't it obvious that the onion has super, natural power? We look at this and see onions as serious medicine. Research is definitely in the early stages, so there is no specific information about the best form to take, but we would guess that raw is best. Do throw them on your salads, cook with them, and just eat them anyway you can.

If you have allergies to sulfur you may have problems with onions. Also, those with adrenal disease may want to use them sparingly as some people claim that onions stimulate the adrenal glands.

The onion skins contain the most quercetin, but since they are not edible, just cook with them, in soups for example, and toss them before serving like you do with bay leaves. We know onion may make your breath stink, but with benefits like those listed above, just carry your toothbrush and a few shreds of Tooth Soap with you and don't worry about it.

If you eat raw onions and happen to have a "stainless steel spoon", you can rub it all over your mouth and tongue and it will get rid of the odor. A spoon works well because it forms to the roof of the mouth. Chefs use little stainless steel blocks to get rid of garlic and onion smells off of their hands, so you can see how it will work for the mouth as well.

Gum Disease Seems to Clog Arteries

The first-ever study to compare levels of oral bacteria with blood vessel thickness provides the strongest evidence yet that gum disease and clogged arteries are closely connected.

"People in the study with the highest levels of specific oral bugs also had the highest levels of atherosclerosis (hardening of the arteries)," said lead researcher Dr. Moise Desvarieux, an assistant professor of epidemiology at Columbia University Medical Center in New York City. The findings are published in the Feb. 8 issue of Circulation. Dental and cardiovascular researchers have long suspected that chronic periodontal infection can also trigger or exacerbate atherosclerosis."

In the meantime, make sure you are doing your best to keep healthy gums and that means brushing with Tooth Soap to start. Why LECITHIN is not so healthful...

You will find lecithin listed as a super healthful nutrient, and some alternative doctors even recommend we take a tablespoon a day of this "rancid" oil to keep our bodies healthy and prevent heart disease and numerous other ailments.

Oh, did we say "rancid"??? Yup, you heard that right, ALL lecithin is rancid, unless you happen to get some that has not oxidized yet. Lecithin is supposed to be WHITE, but if the lecithin you are taking is YELLOW or GOLDEN or TAN, you are ingesting *oxidized* lecithin.

Here is what is listed on the lecithin Material Safety Data Sheet:

Color: Golden to light tan. The color is nearly white when freshly made, but rapidly becomes yellowish to brownish in jar.

Can anyone say, "FREE RADICALS"????

There is also the issue of the soy and the fact that most of it is genetically modified, blah, blah, blah, but we won't get into that right now. What hits home for us is that we don't need to be ingesting any type of rancid oils.

Again, the best form of nutrients will come from WHOLE and ORGANIC foods. Eggs are a wonderful food to help keep your teeth strong and encourage re-enamelization. Make sure to eat your eggs with the yolk uncooked because cooked yolks are oxidized. The yolk is a precious form of dense nutrients and needs to be handled gently. Think of egg yolks as a golden elixir for your body!

Where's the MSP????

We decided not to sell the MSP anymore, because so many people have such a hard time dosing it. No one has a gram scale to measure it properly, so it was impossible for most people to dose correctly.

We also found recently that Dr. Judd is now recommending 1 tablespoon of lecithin on his web page, which replaces the MSP (lecithin contains a high amount of phosphate), so we are informing everyone that they can take one tablespoon of lecithin instead. It will make the protocol even simpler. Lecithin does not come without some problems though, so we HIGHLY recommend that one eat organic eggs, with the yolk of the egg uncooked. This will always be the best form of phosphate as well as other nutrients.
